Tuyen cited the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology as saying that the three people returned Vietnam from Wuhan, China, some days ago. One from the northern central province of Thanh Hoa is staying at a local hospital for the treatment, while two others from the northern province of Vinh Phuc are being treated at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Hanoi's outlying district of Dong Anh.
Earlier, two Chinese men were also tested positive for the deadly virus at Cho Ray Hospital in HCM City. However, one of them have tested negative to the virus following the treatment, while the other has seen health improvement and is waiting for the test result.
The epidemic has spread to all of 31 cities and provinces in China. By Thursday morning, the disease affected 7,711 people in 17 countries, killing 170, in China.
Besides China and Vietnam, 16 other countries, including Nepal, Australia, Turkey, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand and Finland have also been hit by the epidemic.
