People gather at the site
Local authorities reported that the fire broke out at 10 am at a rented house on Nguyen Phi Y Lan Street in Ward 7.
"Some people noticed the fire and rushed to put it out and called rescue forces," the report said. "However, the fire spread fast and burnt down the house after 20 minutes after firefighters brought it under control. Police then found the bodies of three children aged six, four, and nine months in the debris."
Initial investigation showed that the children were siblings, and their mother had locked the door and gone shopping when the accident occurred.
