 Among the volunteers, 65 of them are civil servants and 71 others are from ethnic minority groups.  The amended Law on Military Duty takes effect this year. It has a number of amendments, such as only one recruitment session in February or March is to take place each year, instead of two; and an increased eligibility age for military service among those who attend higher education institutions from 18 to 27.
