The third session of the 13th National Assembly (NA) opened in Hanoi on May 21 to consider tackling socio-economic issues and exercising supreme supervision.
On the first working day, the Government will officially submit to the NA an overall project on economic restructuring which clarifies both advantages and disadvantages of the implementation process.
Apart from reviewing the implementation of legal policies and public investment in agriculture and rural development, the NA will decide important issues such as the budget report 2011, a plan for socio-economic development and State budget allocation in the first quarter of 2012, a Government report and an appraisal report from the NA’s Committee for Finance and Budget on adding 4 projects to the list of projects enjoying Government bond sourced capital in the 2011-2015 period.
During the third session, the legislative body is expected to adopt 13 draft laws and seven resolutions, and gave opinions on other six draft laws.
The Vice Chairman of the NA Office, Nguyen Sy Dung, said the session will also discuss ways to improve the quality and operational efficiency of the NA to meet requirements for building a law-governed socialist State.
The NA will increase the number of live streaming sessions to 15, he noted.
