Social distancing measures have been applied in the entire province of Nghe An from today, August 20 amid a Covid-19 outbreak in the area.

According to Nguyen Duc Trung, chairman of the provincial people’s committee, the province has imposed social distancing measures in line with Government Directive 16 the localities of Vinh City; Cua Lo, Hoang Mai and Thai Hoa towns and the districts of Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan, Thanh Chuong, Do Luong, Anh Son, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu and Nghe An.

Meanwhile, social distancing regulations based on Directive 15 have been applied to Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Que Phong, Quy Chau, Quy Hop and Tan Ky districts.

Over the past week, the province has recorded around 100 new Covid-19 cases with many complicated outbreaks. Up to 16 among 25 communes and wards in Vinh City have Covid-19 infections. To date, 86 Covid-19 cases related to Vinh wholesale market have been detected.

Many districts like Nghi Loc, Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, Hung Nguyen and Nam Dan are facing a high risk of Covid-19 infections.

Trung noted that the supply of necessities was required to ensure the needs of local residents during social distancing.
