According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, high temperatures will affect the regions from today, June 26.
Scorching heat spreads in northern, central regions
Northern localities would face average temperatures of 35-37 degrees centigrade in the next four days. Meanwhile, the central region would see higher temperatures of up to around 40 degrees centigrade over several days.
The hot weather will lead to higher electricity demand so residential areas have been warned about increased risks of fire and explosions. Fears over forest fires in the central region have been raised.
The centre reported that Danang and Hanoi would suffer high UV levels amid the hot weather.
People out in the sun should use sun cream and wear sun-proof clothes. They should also avoid long exposure to the sun.
