A rockslide deforms a section of the North–South railway in Tuyen Hoa Commune, Quang Tri Province, on September 4
Local authorities said the incident occurred at around 6.10 am when three large rocks, each measuring between 1.5 and 3 cubic metres, tumbled down a mountainside and struck the track near Lac Son Station, causing the rails to shift.
No trains were passing at the time, so there were no injuries or damage to rolling stock.
Following the incident, railway operators ordered trains to halt at nearby stations to ensure safety, temporarily suspending traffic on the line through Quang Tri.
The Quang Binh Railway Joint Stock Company mobilised workers and machinery to the site, working with local authorities to clear the debris and repair the damage.

The repair work was completed in the afternoon and train services have resumed.
