The police in District 4 hasn't announced the details and only said that they had had meetings with other departments to discuss a prosecution.

Meanwhile, the residents in the Galaxy Apartment Building where the assault case occurred have jointly signed a letter to the authorities in HCM City and government with three requests.

First is to quickly prosecute Nguyen Huu Linh, a retired deputy head of the Danang City People's Procuracy for child sexual abuse. Second is to minimise the impacts on the victim during the investigation and prosecution and finally is to review the laws and impose stricter punishments regarding child sexual abuse.

The Supreme People's Procuracy also asked local authorities to cooperate to investigate and strictly deal with this case no matter if the offender had retired or not.

When being questioned, Linh said he didn't touch the girl sexually, he only hugged her fondly.

The HCM City's Association for Protection of Child's Rights and several experts has also called on the government to prosecute Linh after he was caught hugging and kissing a 7-year-old girl in a lift.
