Petrol import tax increased on the heels of price cut

The decision took effect on June 8.

Vu Thi Mai, Deputy Minister of Finance, signed Circular 94 to replace the Circular 84 on preferential import tax rates for fuel, issued in May 24, 2012 .

The new circular will raise the preferential import tax rate for gasoline from 4% to 7%, rates on diesel will go from 3% to 6%, while mazut and kerosene will go from 5% to 8%.

On June 7, the Ministry of Finanace lowered the retail price for petrol by VND800 per litter, VND700 per litter for diesel and kerosene VND650 per litter for mazut.
