According to Hanoi Department of Health, 18,333 people who returned from Danang from July 15 to July 29 still haven't been tested. They are mostly residents in 14 districts including Ha Dong, Dong Da, Hoang Mai, Thanh Xuan, Cau Giay, Long Bien, Ba Dinh, Tay Ho, Thanh Tri and Dong Anh.

They are asked to quickly go to testing locations to have samples taken from August 18 to 19.

At a meeting on August 17, the Hanoi Steering Committee on Covid-19 Prevention and Control announced that 100,090 people had returned to Hanoi from Danang since July 15.

Since August 8, they have taken samples of the people returning during July 15-29 period. 50,602 samples have been taken and sent to the testing units under the Ministry of Health. 28,478 of which have come back negative.

The Hanoi CDC has tested 1,086 people, of which two are positive. They are Patient 752 in Phuc Tho and Patient 962 in Thanh Xuan District.

Ngo Van Quy, vice-chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, called for all personnel to be responsible to ensure quick and accurate testing results by August 20. People with symptoms like coughing and a fever may be tested even if they didn't return from Danang after July 15.

Hospitals are asked to tighten monitoring and ensure safety for medical staff.

"Hospitals that do not meet the requirements will be closed," he said.
