Authorities in Hue reported that during the first three months of 2026 they detected and handled more than 16,000 traffic violations. Over 8,000 of those cases involved speeding or drink-driving, offences considered major causes of road accidents.
Following directives from the Ministry of Public Security and the city government, local police have implemented coordinated and stricter measures to improve road safety.
Traffic police, working with commune-level officers, organised road safety awareness campaigns reaching more than 14,000 residents. Nearly 300 drivers, transport business owners and operators of three-wheeled vehicles were also required to sign commitments to comply with traffic regulations.
Authorities said they had mobilised maximum personnel and technical equipment to strengthen patrols and enforcement activities, maintaining what they described as a policy with no exemptions.
Traffic police and mobile police units have also intensified measures against groups of youths gathering to cause public disorder and commit traffic violations.
