Vietnamese people wait for check-in the repatriation flight in Taiwan.

The repatriation flight was arranged by authorities of the two countries and the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, the ministry said.

The passengers include children aged below 18, the elderly, pregnant women, people with illness, workers with expired contracts, and tourists stranded in the territory.

All the passengers and the flight crew members were given health check-ups and sent to quarantine areas upon arrival in accordance with current regulations.

This is the 58th repatriation flight arranged by local authorities since April 10, bringing home 14,143 citizens from foreign countries and territories, the ministry added. And more such flights will be conducted in the coming time.


According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, Vietnam has reported a total of 396 Covid-19 patients as of July 21 morning.

Of the patient tally, 360 have recovered and no deaths have been reported.
