According to the National Centre for Hydrometeorology Forecasting, since Sunday afternoon, many northern mountainous localities have been witnessing downpours. Some areas have recorded high rainfall such as Nguyen Binh and Tinh Tuc in Cao Bang, Hoa Lac in Lang Son, Song Mai in Bac Giang, Na Chi in Ha Giang and Vu Muon in Bac Kan.

The northern region of Vietnam is facing rains following hot days
Rains in the region will become increasingly common between August 8-11. Rainfall of up to 50-80 mm per 24 hours may be experienced in many northern areas. Strong wind and thunder would happen during the rain. Particularly, mountainous localities would experience flash floods.
On August 9-11, Hanoi would also have rain and strong wind.
The northern region saw hot weather over the past week, with the highest temperature in many areas of up to 37 degrees centigrade. The central region is witnessing high temperatures with highs of around 40 degrees centigrade.
