According to Dr Nguyen Xuan Anh, head of the Institute of Geophysics, at around 12:15 pm on Monday, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in the province’s Moc Chau District.
A house is damaged by an earthquake in Son La Province on July 27.
Just some minutes after that the province also struggled with another earthquake measured at 3.0 on the Richer Scale happened in the district.
The four remaining earthquakes measured between 3.8 and 4.0 Richer Scale also happened from Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning
Local authorities reported that the 5.3 magnitude earthquake damaged many houses and government buildings. In the communes of Na Muong, Ta Lai and Long Sap, headquarters of the people’s committee saw cracks with mortar peeled from walls and ceilings and an electrical fire.
However, no human losses were reported.
