North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrived in Hanoi on Tuesday morning, beginning his first official visit to Vietnam.

Security has been tightened with traffic ban around the Melia Hotel on Ly Thuong Kiet Street where the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, will stay during his official visit to Vietnam.

The North Korean leader arrived at Dong Dang Train Station in the northern province of Lang Son at around 8 am on Tuesday morning. He then traveled by car and arrived at the Melia Hotel in Hanoi at around 10.45 am.

Vehicles have been banned on the street sections around the hotel since the morning of February 26.


People are required to show papers before entering the area.
