Authorities in Ninh Binh Province have fined a fuel retailer for selling petrol above the maximum price set by the government, ordering the company to refund the excess amount to affected customers.
Market Surveillance Team 7 under the Ninh Binh Department of Industry and Trade imposed a fine of VND 35 million (about USD 1,370) on Linh Luong Investment Development and Trading JSC for violating fuel pricing regulations.
The violation occurred at Petrol Station 1, operated by the company on Road 21B in Ninh Giang Commune, where petrol was sold at a price higher than that announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The penalty also requires the company to return the full price difference to customers who were overcharged.
Authorities launched the inspection after receiving public complaints on March 12 that the station was charging above the official price ceiling.
An investigation later confirmed that the retailer had sold fuel at prices exceeding the maximum level set by the state, according to the market surveillance team.
