Dantri Newspaper starts construction of a kitchen for teachers and students in Tuyen Quang Province on May 29.

The VND200 million 100-square-metre-kitchen will serve teachers and students at Minh Quang High School in Lam Binh District. The kitchen will be equipped with a large-size gas stove, electric rice cooker, electric fans, and dining tables.

Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony of the kitchen project, Nguyen Anh The who is in charge of Dantri/Dtinews’ charity programme said that the money used for this project came from reader donations and was intended to improve living and studying conditions for students in this poor area.

"Thanks to the generosity of many readers, Dantri/Dtinews has so far completed 24 bridges and 42 school projects nationwide," The said. "In Tuyen Quang Province, we also opened a new bridge in Chiem Hoa District in February this year. We hope that these projects will help improve the lives of local people in remote areas."


Speaking at the ceremony, the vice-chairman of Lam Binh District People's Committee, Nguyen Van Hien expressed his sincere thanks to Dantri/Dtinews Online Newspaper and the donors.

"I believe that his project will provide a better environment for our students and teachers at school," he said. "This will also encourage them to study and work harder for a better future."


The official added that Lam Binh is a poor remote mountainous district. People in the area belong to 12 ethnic groups with 71 percent living in poverty or near poverty.
