A seminar on the “Intensive population corn-planting method” was held jointly by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association (VUSTA) and local authorities in Thieu Hoa District, Thanh Hoa Province.
The outstanding corn-planting method will help farmers to increase productivity and contribute more to the food processing industry.
This is an advanced technique which has been successfully tested in many provinces such as Hai Duong, Son La, and Thanh Hoa Provinces according to Dr. Nguyen Manh Don, Manager of Science, Technology and Economic Department of VUSTA. It should be recognised and needs scientific backing in order to popularise it nationwide.
Chu Van Tiep and Trinh Thi Thanh are co-inventors of this method and were honoured with the Viet Nam Fund for Supporting Scientific and Technological Creations (VIFOTEC) Award in 2004.
