Nearly 10,000 tonnes of rice proposed for poor people on Tet
The rice will be provided for 658,500 people in the seven provinces of Tay Ninh, Cao Bang, Phu Yen, Ninh Thuan, Nghe An, Gia Lai and Quang Binh.
Of the sum, 6,902 tonnes of rice will be given to them on the Lunar New Year or Tet occasion, while the remainder will be offered for them in March.
According to MOLISA, the Covid-19 pandemic has seriously affected many people, increasing the rate of people who are facing the risk of food shortage.
Some 4,880 tonnes of rice were also recently provided for needy people in Hoa Binh, Ha Tinh and Soc Trang provinces.
