Vice-chairman of Tay Son Commune said that some landslide spots on the road were very serious and beyond the locality’s ability to resolve. The commune has reported the problem to district authorities for support.

Tay Son is among the poorest communes in Nghe An.

The flash floods, triggered by torrential rain, in October have cost up to VND100 billion (USD4.16 million) in damage in Ky Son.

The flash floods swept away 14 houses and inundated dozens of others. Household items and personal effects were also buried in a layer of mud more than a metre thick.
