The project will link Tan Trieu Ward in Dong Nai with Thuong Tan Commune in HCM City, improving traffic links with the city’s northern industrial hub, formerly part of Binh Duong Province.
According to the Dong Nai City Construction Investment Project Management Board, the bridge will span the section between Bach Dang 2 and Thu Bien bridges, featuring six lanes, four for cars and two for non-motorised vehicles, with a width of 33.5 metres.

The bridge itself will span about 560 metres, while approach roads will extend roughly 580 metres.
Dong Nai authorities on Friday instructed the city’s project management board to complete procedures promptly so construction can start on schedule.
By late 2025, the HCM City People’s Council had approved plans for three bridge projects linking HCM City and Dong Nai, assigning Dong Nai to lead the Tan Hien Bridge project and HCM City the Thanh Hoi 2 and Tan An bridges, all due before 2030.
Earlier this year, Dong Nai and HCM City broke ground on the Cat Lai, Long Hung and Phu My 2 bridges, with more crossings planned, including Tan An, Hieu Liem 2, Thanh Hoi 2 and Xom La, to boost regional connectivity.
The two localities are already connected by major transport links, including Thu Bien and Bach Dang 2 bridges, Dong Nai Bridge on National Highway 1, Long Thanh Bridge on the HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway, and Nhon Trach Bridge on Ring Road 3.
Phuoc Khanh Bridge on the Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway and Phuoc An Bridge are expected to be completed in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
Authorities said the new bridge projects would help complete the regional transport network, improve connectivity, ease goods transport, cut logistics costs and attract investment into industrial parks and urban areas.
