According to Ho Chi Minh City Police, the group arrived in Vietnam on May 12 and was received at Noi Bai International Airport alongside other relevant agencies.

Authorities said the case was one of several recent deportation waves involving Vietnamese citizens returned from abroad as illegal migration, unlawful residence and labour violations continue to rise.
Many countries have tightened immigration controls and increased enforcement against offences related to public order, illegal employment and the use of fraudulent documents.
Officials said some Vietnamese citizens had been detained and deported after participating in illegal migration activities due to limited legal awareness or being lured into unlawful border-crossing schemes.
Statistics showed that in the first five months of the year, hundreds of Vietnamese citizens had been deported or repatriated to Ho Chi Minh City, mainly from the United States and Cambodia.

Authorities said the reception process extended beyond administrative handover procedures and also included support measures aimed at helping returnees stabilise their lives and reintegrate into society.
For individuals without a clear place of residence, financial means or family guarantors, authorities will coordinate with ward-level administrations, local police and the health department to provide temporary accommodation and care at social support centres across the city.
Officials urged Vietnamese citizens planning to study, work, travel or settle abroad to carefully research the laws of destination countries and avoid illegal migration, unlawful employment, the use of forged documents or involvement in human smuggling networks.
