The Lam Dong Province Military Command on May 8 coordinated with relevant agencies to transport three MK82 bombs and one 105mm artillery shell to a secure disposal site.
The unexploded ordnance was found while residents were digging soil for farmland and excavating foundations for houses in Quang Tan Commune, Truong Xuan Commune and Dak Song Commune.

Each MK82 bomb weighs about 230 kilogrammes, measures 1.54 metres in length and 27 centimetres in diameter, and contains around 44 kilogrammes of explosives.
According to technical specifications, an MK82 bomb has a lethal blast radius of about 600 metres if detonated.

Area Defence Command 2 - Dong Gia Nghia said the explosives had been transferred to a disposal holding site at the General Training Ground in Quang Phu Commune, Lam Dong Province.
