More flights to be added on National Day Holiday

Vietnam Airlines has provided more flights to meet higher demand for the upcoming National Day (September 2) holiday.

Vietnam Airlines, the country's flag carrier, has provided more flights to meet higher demand for the upcoming National Day (September 2) holiday.

During the four-day National Holiday, starting from August 31, Vietnam Airlines will conduct an additional 2,500 domestic and international flights with a total of around 500,000 seats.

Of the figure, domestic flights will account for 1,700 with 330,000 seats, concentrating on routes linking Hanoi/HCM City and tourist destinations, including Danang, Da Lat, Cam Ranh, Hue, and Phu Quoc. The flight figure represented a rise of 19 percent compared to last year's National Day holiday occasion.

Meanwhile, international routes will focus on flights connecting India, China, Thailand and Australia.

Up to 50-70 percent of Vietnam Airlines' flights during the holiday have been booked.

The national flag carrier has purchased one Airbus A320neo and one Boeing 787-10 to serve more passengers.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has asked the airlines to report on their increased flight frequency and the status of ticket sales, bookings and seat availability on domestic tourist destination routes during the National Day holiday period.
