Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Senior Lieutenant Pham Ngoc Minh, said that Danang International Airport was among the three hardest-hit places affected by dioxin in Vietnam.

Minh added that the dioxin decontamination at the airport has mainly been provided by non-refundable aid from the US government.

According to the Office of National Steering Committee 33, about 148,000 cubic metres of dioxin-contaminated soil was identified at Da Nang International Airport; 7,500 cubic metres in Phu Cat Airport and between 450,000 or 500,000 cubic metres at Bien Hoa Airport.
