According to Nguyen Tien Bo, head of the Huu Nghi Border Gate's Customs Branch, the operations of the two border gates have been resumed since February 3, the third day of the Lunar New Year.

Earlier, the Chinese side temporarily closed the two border gates from January 31 for the Lunar New Year or Tet Holiday.
The Lang Son Department of Industry and Trade reported that by January 31, a total of 390 vehicles remained stuck at the three border gates of Huu Nghi, Tan Thanh and Chi Ma. The number sharply decreased against late December.
The General Department of Vietnam Customs recently launched a new warning function for cargo congestion at border gates on the national single window portal.
Information on traffic at border gates is now publicly updated in real time at https://www.vnsw.gov.vn.
The situation at the border gate is shown with red (highest warning level with over 5,000 vehicles), orange (from over 1,000 to 5,000), yellow (from over 500 to 1,000), and green (under 500).
Earlier, Lang Son Province offered gifts to drivers whose vehicles were stranded at local border gates to wait for customs clearance procedures.
