Trees are covered by frosts in Mau Son Mountain on January 29
A cold wave which hit the northern region on Sunday night has lowered temperatures in many northern and northern central localities down to around 10 degrees Celsius.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, it was minus one degree Celsius this morning in Mau Son Mountain which is 1,500 metres above the sea level.

Hanoi is predicted to be cold and have scattered rainfall this week.
The central provinces and cities have also been affected by the cold snap. Rainfall is forecasted from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue provinces.
Hoang Phuc Lam, head of the centre’s long-term weather forecasting division, said that cold spells are forecasted in late January and early February in the north.
In February, the northern region will brace for four to five cold snaps. In the middle of February, coinciding with the Lunar New Year holiday, the cold snap will cause light rain.
