Farmers collect dead fish from their cages in the Yaly Reservoir on June 20
Reports from the Sa Thay District People's Committee showed that as many as 25 tonnes of fish raised in over 20 cages on the reservoir had died by the end of June 20, with an estimated loss of some VND3.8 billion.
"We're raising mostly lentil fish here which are all about one year," a farmer said.

Initial investigations from local authorities showed that the fish might have died from lack of oxygen and the sudden change in water condition following heavy rains.
"We've taken water samples from the lake for further testing to find out the cause of the incident," the committee said. "Some teams have been sent to help people collect the dead fish to prevent environmental pollution."
