The event was jointly held by Biet Dong Sai Gon - Gia Dinh Museum, the UNESCO Club on Research and Preservation for the Value of National Antiquity, Fiditour, and other groups to mark the 2nd HCM City Tourism Week.

Huynh Minh Hiep, Deputy Office Manager of the UNESCO Club on Research and Preservation for the Value of National Antiquity, saw the participation of 15 cars and 20 motorbikes made between 1930 and 1970. The event was aimed to depict features of Saigon in the past.

The Motobecane AB1 produced in 1938 was among the oldest vehicles in the parade. It is also the only one of its kind in Vietnam at present.

Many different kinds of vehicles such as Volkswagen, Mercedes, Ford Mustang, Honda, and Vespa also joined the programme.

The vehicles travelled through sites, including the HCM City People’s Committee, the HCM City Opera House, Reunification Palace, Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, and Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon.

A Volkswagen-branded car travelled through Vo Van Kiet Street.

The march delegation also passed through Ba Thien Hau Pagoda and other roads near Cho Lon Market.
