Police in the northern province of Vinh Phuc have just issued fines to a local man for spreading false information on the Covid-19 pandemic.

Le Van Manh in Vinh Tuong District was fined VND 7.5 million (USD326) after he shared on his Facebook account about a woman testing positive for Covid-19, which was then found wrong. Manh was also asked to remove the post from his Facebook account.
Vinh Phuc Police have asked people not to spread and share wrong information especially on the Covid-19 pandemic on social media. The province is seeing a surge in the new number of Covid-19 infections found in the community.
