The landslide happened on Tuesday midnight and early Wednesday morning at a mountain in Kim Thuy Commune, Le Thuy District. As a result, hundreds of cubic metres of soil and stone fell onto a 50-metre section of National Highway 9C.

A landslide occurred in the central province of Quang Binh on September 7 and 8, causing traffic congestion on a local road.
Ho Van Linh, chairman of Kim Thuy Commune, said that over recent days, the locality had witnessed heavy rains, which was the main reason for the landslide incident.
Local authorities are clearing the road section.
Many localities in the northern and central regions have been facing torrential rains since September 7. Flash floods have been warned in some mountainous areas.
