Over the past few days, the southern central and the Central Highlands regions of Vietnam have been experiencing adverse downpours, which has caused landslides in many localities.

The section of National Highway 26 has been severely blocked due to the landslide.
At around 5 pm on Monday, a landslide occurred on a section of National Highway 26 which goes through Cu Mta Commune. Up to more than 1,000 cubic metres of rock and soil was estimated to have fallen onto the section.
However, the on-going heavy rain has challenged rescue forces, said Pham Ngoc Thach, chairman of M’Dak District People’s Committee.
According to Thach, rock and debris totally blocked the traffic on the road section, even for pedestrians.
Local police have been attempting to help keep the traffic moving and co-operating with concerned agencies to mobilise equipment to clear the site.
On Sunday evening, three landslides occurred in Krong Bong District in Dak Lak Province, burying many local houses.
