More than 250 hectares of forest die around a reservoir of the Thuong Kon Tum Hydropower Plant.
The Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee has asked concerned agencies and the Vinh Son-Song Hinh Hydropower Company to find out those responsible for the death of over 25 hectares of forest in Kon Plong District and propose suitable punishment against them.
According to a report by an inspection team under the province's Police Department, the incident occurred in 2021 after the Vinh Son-Song Hinh Hydropower Company kept water at the reservoir of their Thuong Kon Tum Hydropower Plant.
Following their inspection, Kon Tum Police Department has removed the charge of forest destruction that was previously given to the Vinh Son-Song Hinh Hydropower Company when the case was brought to court in April 2022.
