As many as 406 delegates will gather in Hanoi on August 10-12 for in the 9th Vietnam Journalist’s Association (VJA) Congress.
Le Quoc Trung, VJA Vice President says that the congress will elect about 47-51 journalists to the executive board of the VJA to meet the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people in the 2010-2015 period.
The development of the press, the press law and protection of journalists will also be considered.
The congress will discuss ways to protect journalists as a number of them are reported to have been attacked when they are on duty.
