The investigation took place in November of 2009, according to the Vietnam Civil Aviation Department. The weak operations of JPA's quality assurance system has caused many serious issues according to the accusations from Bernard John.
After discovering the errors of the quality assurance system, JPA was forced to stop A check implementations (the periodic checks that have to be done on all aircraft after a certain amount of time or usage by the airline). They had to carry out the checks in Singapore which caused a series of JPA’s flights being delayed or canceled at the end of 2009.
In addition, Luong Hoai Nam, Former General Manager of Jetstar Pacific Airlines, has taken responsibility. The Vietnam Civil Aviation Department decided to dismiss him as the Manager of the maintenance system before he was fired by the State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC).
Two managers of the quality assurance and technical maintenance departments of JPA have also been dismissed.
The final results of the investigation will be announced early next week.
