Israeli Ambassador Nadav Eshcar and H'Hen Nie read books with children in the new library in Ha Giang province.
The library is as part of a three-year project which aims to help develop reading habits for ethnic students in remote mountainous areas.
The project is also being implemented at an elementary school in Niem Tong commune of Meo Vac district in Ha Giang province.
This scheme will see students gain access to high-quality books which are suitable for their ages, while they will be able to read books at schools and will be encouraged to maintain their reading habit at home.
Through the project, library rooms are to be upgraded and equipped with nearly 10,000 books and other materials. Teachers will also be trained about the management of library rooms.
H’Hen Nie is a global ambassador of the Room to Read organisation. So far she has raised fund in order to build friendly libraries and has presented scholarships to female students in Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Tra Vinh, and Vinh Long provinces.
