The lifts with a total 1,000-kg capacity will be installed at seven pedestrian overpasses serving Tan Cang, An Phu, Rach Chiec, Phuoc Long, Binh Thai, High-Tech Park and National University stations, with two lifts at An Phu.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board (MAUR), the lifts are intended to enhance convenience and support vulnerable passengers, including the elderly, children, people with disabilities and pregnant women.
The upgrades also aim to remove access barriers, improve service quality and encourage greater use of public transport.
Alongside the lift installations, MAUR is rolling out ancillary works including covered walkways, wheelchair ramps, CCTV systems and public address speakers.
The Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Metro Line carries about 60,000 passengers a day, and MAUR said the upgrades would help keep it a preferred choice while promoting greener travel and sustainable urban development.
