Lam Dong Province has declared a natural disaster emergency at landslide sites in the Dung K'No 5 resettlement area and ordered relevant agencies to implement urgent mitigation measures.
The decision was announced on August 28 following continued land movement in Dung K'No 5 Hamlet, Dam Rong 4 Commune, where 15 households comprising around 70 residents are living.

According to Lam Dong Province authorities, the landslides have directly affected auxiliary structures located behind the homes of all 15 households. The affected area stretches for approximately 200 metres and features slopes between five and seven metres high.
The landslides first appeared in 2025 and remain at risk of further expansion.
Provincial officials described the situation as complex, warning that continued ground movement poses a threat to the lives and property of nearby residents.
Lam Dong Province has instructed the People's Committee of Dam Rong 4 Commune to install warning signs, deploy personnel to monitor the area and relocate residents from locations deemed at high risk of landslides.

The Dung K'No 5 resettlement area covers more than 15.4 hectares and consists of 113 residential plots. The project was developed in two phases with a total investment of nearly VND 59.7 billion (about USD 2.3 million).
Since July 2025, subsidence and landslides have been reported across parts of the resettlement area, damaging houses and auxiliary structures belonging to several households.
In response, authorities in Dam Rong 4 Commune have asked Lam Dong Province to allocate funding for stabilisation and remediation works aimed at ensuring the safety of local residents.
