The incident occurred at around 4 pm in Trieu Xuyen 2 Hamlet, Phuc Tho Commune, when residents heard a powerful blast coming from a two-storey house, followed by a fire.
Firefighting and rescue forces were quickly dispatched to the scene and brought the blaze under control by 4.30 pm.
According to authorities, responders discovered a 19-year-old man dead and two other people injured during firefighting and rescue operations. Police found large amounts of fireworks debris at the scene.
