Leaders of the Nha Trang Ward People’s Committee said on January 6 that an inspection was carried out after a video circulated online showing bar employees intimidating foreign visitors. Officials found that the bar, located on Tran Phu Street, did not have a valid licence to operate food and beverage services and ordered it to cease operations immediately.
Local authorities are continuing to verify the threatening behaviour by the bar’s employees.
According to a representative of the bar, the incident occurred on the evening of December 31, 2025, when a group of bar staff became involved in an altercation with two foreign tourists. At the time, the two foreign tourists were intoxicated and reportedly harassed several female customers at the bar. One employee reportedly ran toward the visitors holding a shovel to threaten them, causing one tourist to flee.
The representative said the business had apologised to the affected tourists and disciplined the staff members involved.
Nha Trang is a popular destination for international visitors, known for its scenic bay and white sandy beaches. The city received nearly 15 million visitors in 2025, including 4.6 million international arrivals.
