Representatives from the Vietnam Navy Command in the South, Naval Region 2 Command, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Affairs Department of the Ministry of Defence, and other relevant local authorities welcomed the crew members.

At a press briefing aboard the ship, Colonel Praveen Thomas said the visit marked an important milestone in bilateral cooperation between India and Vietnam. It helps strengthen the Vietnam–India relationship in the Indo-Pacific region, aiming to ensure maritime security and safety, sustainable management of marine resources, and regional strategic integration.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs, during the visit, officers and crew will lay flowers in memory of President Ho Chi Minh at the statue park on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street and pay courtesy visits to the leadership of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Military Region 7, and Naval Region 2 Command.
They will also visit several landmarks in Ho Chi Minh City, participate in sports exchanges with the Vietnam Navy, and welcome delegations touring the INS Darshak.
INS Darshak is equipped with advanced modern systems, including digital survey and data processing equipment; positioning systems; modern acoustic and water density measuring devices; and tidal and meteorological sensors.
