An inspection team from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has come to Danang in preparation to install a radiation detection system at Danang International Airport.
The system is part of the nuclear safety and security programme to find radioactive sources. The system will be installed at the immigration and customs areas.
IAEA has been helping Vietnam's customs strengthen its ability to detect illegally-imported nuclear materials and other radioactive sources in order to prevent and combat nuclear terrorism.
It also provided intensive training for the employees and building a culture of security in relevant agencies.
Danang Airport is the third airport to receive this aid package from the IAEA, after Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi and Tan Son Nhat Airport in HCM City.
