At a recent meeting chaired by Vice Chairman Phan Phong Phu, local authorities instructed relevant agencies to accelerate plans to upgrade the Nhat Le coastal area and both sides of Truong Phap Road.
According to the provincial Department of Construction, a proposal to upgrade and widen Truong Phap Road has been completed and submitted for appraisal for inclusion in the 2027 public investment plan.
The first phase of the project is estimated to cost more than VND 157 billion (USD 6 million), while total public investment for the road is expected to reach around VND 300 billion (USD 11.5 million).
The road will be widened to at least four lanes and developed into a coastal boulevard featuring public squares, parks, parking areas and other community facilities.
Plans also prioritise open public spaces on the eastern side of Truong Phap Road to preserve sea views, while land on the western side will be reviewed for residential and commercial development.
To address worsening coastal erosion, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment has proposed a VND 610 billion (USD 23.4 million) project to protect and restore Nhat Le Beach.
The project would combine erosion-control structures with studies of coastal hydrodynamics and sediment movement to replenish the shoreline in line with the area's tourism and urban development plans.
Separately, authorities plan to reclaim land occupied by 29 beachfront restaurants at Nhat Le 2 Beach after their leases expire, allowing the site to be redeveloped under the new master plan.
The redevelopment would also include technical measures to protect the coastline, improved public infrastructure and a landmark architectural feature along Truong Phap Road as part of broader plans to modernise the beachfront.
