The golf course project at Tan Son Nhat Airport has been controversial

Attention has focused a golf course at Tan Son Nhat Airport and vacant land at Phu Tho racecourse.

Many voters have complained about land owned by the army at the airport being used for golf course and luxury housing instead of an expansion to the airport.

They proposed local authorities hasten the construction of projects to build a school and circus at Phu Tho racecourse in Ward 15.

Local residents referenced other slow-paced projects including the 42-hectare Hung Long project and Hanh Phuc apartment project in Binh Hung Commune, which have been left unfinished for several years, leading to downgraded roads, waste land and disturbed lives for local residents.

They proposed cancelling the two projects.

A project to build an university village in Hung Long Commune has also lagged. Voters proposed changing it into an industrial cluster to create jobs for local people who currently have to find opportunities in more distant industrial parks such as Le Minh Xuan and Tan Tao.

The Ben Luc - Long Thanh - Dau Giay road project has been conducted at a slow pace. Local people wanted to resettle the site instead of having to be relocated.

It has taken 17 years for compensation for the Singapore-Vietnam urban area project to be agreed, but the process has dragged on due to disputes over the compensation, with local people proposing that municipal authorities inspect the project to devise a solution.

Voters in Cu Chi District proposed reconsidering an orchid and ornamental tree plantation in Phuoc Vinh An Commune, National Highway 22, school hospital and medical plant growing area in Phuoc Hiep and Tan An Hoi Communes.

Voters in Binh Tan, Cu Chi and Binh Chanh Districts proposed the city’s government amend Decision 64/2011/QĐ-UBND dated October 25, 2011 on taxes on land use changes as current tax rates are too high.
