Police in Hiep Binh Ward on April 17 carried out inspections targeting street encroachment, particularly food vendors operating on sidewalks and road verges.

Several cases involved traders using bus stops to display goods, affecting passengers’ ability to board and alight. One individual was fined VND 2.5 million (USD 95) for illegally using the pavement after previously being warned twice.
Nearby, another trader encroaching on a bus stop received a warning for a first-time offence and was required to sign a commitment not to reoffend.
Multiple cases of illegal parking and pavement occupation were also fined, and signboards obstructing pedestrian access were confiscated.
Officials said enforcement campaigns would continue, focusing on areas where violations frequently recur, to restore urban order and ensure traffic safety.
