Police in Binh Phuoc Ward, in coordination with forest rangers, received the animal on April 16 from the family of Do Thi Van Anh, who found it while working on their farm.

Recognising it as a protected species, the family promptly contacted authorities to arrange its transfer.
Officials recorded the animal’s initial health condition before handing it over to forest rangers for care, rehabilitation and eventual release into its natural habitat.
Under Vietnam’s 2017 forestry law and Decree 06/2019/ND CP, endangered, rare and precious wildlife species, including the slow loris, are strictly protected. Any illegal hunting, captivity, transport or trade is prohibited.
