Located on Vo Van Ngan Street, Thu Duc District, the underground reservoir which will be built by Japan’s Sekisui Company has a capacity of 109 cubic metres.

The first water-regulating reservoir in HCM City
The construction is scheduled for completion after one week. After that, the road surface where the reservoir is built will be repaired and vehicles with the load capacity of 25 tonnes can run on it.
The reservoir is expected to help to reduce the flooding around Vo Van Ngan Street and up to 95% of the reservoir water will be used for watering trees and fire prevention and control.
The reservoir is considered as the pilot one and if it operates effectively, the model will be expanded across the city.
Sekisui Company uses ‘cross-wave’ material which is installed and uninstalled and favourable for construction for the reservoir.
Hanoi has planned to build 103 water-regulating reservoirs as the city is facing more serious flooding.
