The trial period will run from August 1 to October 31.
The move was in response to the prime minister’s instruction to encourage people to use public transport.

Passengers are allowed to bring folding bikes on the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro trains.
HURC1 reminds passengers to keep their folding bikes properly folded in a carry bag and within the size limit of 120x70x40 cm when bringing them on board.
Passengers are prohibited from riding, pushing, or unfolding bikes within stations or on trains, and must not obstruct space or compromise operational safety.
Passengers with folding bikes must take full responsibility for their bikes, avoid damaging station or train facilities, and comply with safety rules and public conduct regulations.
Previously, Article 9 of the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Metro route’s rules banned personal mobility devices, including bicycles, folding bikes, and scooters. Since the line’s launch, the rule has drawn mixed reactions, with many passengers hoping to bring folding bikes for first- and last-mile travel.
