36kg of narcotics hidden as gifts
HCM City Customs Department collaborated with the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department to carry out an inspection on April 26 and seized 16 packages at Tan Son Nhat Airports.
The police found 36kg of narcotics including ecstasy, marijuana, and ketamine hidden inside boxes for moisturiser, coffee and tea. The package was carefully wrapped and prepared against screening machines and police dogs. The ecstasy was hidden inside the powdered milk cans which had a false bottom.
The drugs were smuggled from the US, Canada and Germany as presents into Hanoi and HCM City.
The Customs Department and the police have expanded the investigation.
