On March 14, Hanoi authorities launched a campaign to deal with self-modified three-wheeled vehicles. Since then, around 2,012 three-wheeled vehicles have been seized.
Major Nguyen Hoang Ninh from the Road Traffic Police Team 1 in Hanoi told the Hanoi City Police Department that three-wheeled vehicles do not meet technical standards and were not allowed to operate.
The police have deployed patrols to handle violations of three-wheel vehicles. Ninh emphasised that, despite the drivers' explanations, the police are committed to enforcing the law for the safety of all. Traffic police have resolutely enforced strict penalties for all violators.
In the coming time, Hanoi police will continue tightening control over the operations of three-wheeled vehicles.
Close coordination among concerned agencies is necessary to curb the use of these modified vehicles.
